Leitmotiv will launch beachwear following Kerouac and Hockney “On The Road” of America

Fabio Sasso and Juan Caro – Leitmotiv creative duo

They were like the man with dungeone stone and gloom, rising from the underground, the sordid hipsters from America, a new beat generation that I was slowly joyning

Sal, Chapter Nine – from On The Road by Jack Kerouac (1957)

– Sal, we gotta go and never stop going till we get there.

– Where we going, man?

– I don’t know but we gotta go.

Dean and Sal, Chapter Ten.

Young, with no money, travelling through USA with their hunger of new experiences and their desperate need to find a meaning in their existance. So was the beat generation from the 50ies portrayed by Jack Kerouac in his autobiographical novel On The Road and painted in its lonely scenaries by David Hockney. And now reinterpreted in a positive key by the new Leitmotiv S/S 2013 collection “Dream Day” , inspired by this travelling generation. Fabio Sasso and Juan Caro, creative heart of the brand, are launching their very first beachwear line next sunday on June 24th at the Baltic Fashion Week, rich in beach-like chemises and light shorts ready to be taken off and put in a bag for a fast stop during a long tour. “We were inspired by the travelling beat generation from the fifties, trying to express their willing to meet new worlds and their wonderful sense of freedom” explains Fabio Sasso to Moda Sapienza. The beachwear collection will be presented toghether with the menswear and a preview of the womenswear which will be shown at the Berlin Fashion Week between the 4th and the 7th of July. “Our woman is a travelling girl, while our man holds his classic style in the printed male shoes yet revealing a sort of a ‘boyish’ attitude. Both of them wear printed denim jackets with leather features, jeans and printed studded jackets, as if they were ready to leave for a fabolous journey,  spending a Dreamy Day“.

The air was so soft, the stars so fine, the promise of every cobbled arley so great, that  I thought I was in a dream.

    • I totally agree with you, Lili: these guys are great! I fell in love with their style since the first catwalk of their brand I attended, and, knowing them two, I can tell they’re such a nice guys too! They deserve all the great success their having, I’m sure their fantastic brand will grow more and more in the future. How do you know them, I mean by their website, by magazines, or by attending a fashion week with their catwalk? 🙂
